Tromsø trip questions

What to know before booking

Which Tromsø tour should I book first?

For a winter trip, book a northern lights tour first. Add one daytime activity such as dog sledding, a reindeer experience, whale watching or a fjord tour.

How many days do you need in Tromsø?

Three full days gives most travellers enough time for two major activities and some room for weather changes. Four days is more comfortable in winter.

Are northern lights sightings guaranteed?

No. Cloud, weather and auroral activity all affect visibility. A road chase can move to search for clearer sky, but no tour can guarantee a sighting.

Can you visit Tromsø without a car?

Yes. The centre is compact and many major tours include transport or leave from a central meeting point.
